The Art of Retraction

When, in the course of cryptographic research, a paper is published which contains inaccuracies and mistakes, it becomes increasingly urgent to retract the assertions in a graceful and honest way. During 2010, the author posted some mistaken numbers on sci.crypt.random-numbers . The retraction was given and an apology was issued. Sorry. Notes are given in the Summer Issue of PopCryMag.

Please accept the retraction and apology for asserting that a certain random number generator seemed less random than an encrypted file. I added some numbers in a sloppy way and mistakes were made because the mistakes supported my goals and agenda. I am sorry. Alan Foolmsbee
